Extends for the Barcelona’s counties: el Maresme and el Vallès. It is one of the smaller denominations of Spain.
Soils
It can distinguished between the inner slope of the coastal range of clay composition, and the one closer to the sea. The last terrains, known as Sauló, is more characterized. Of almost white colour, it is distinguished by its high permeability and high capacity to retain the sun's rays, helping the better ripening of the grapes.
Climate
Typical Mediterranean microclimate with mild winters and hot and dry summers. It is important the action of the greenhouse that acts as a protective barrier against wind and condenses moisture from the sea.
